Will Freedom Filter Handle Ice and
Snow?
Freedom Filter is impervious to
winter. Drains & dries so
quickly, it won't turn into a
block of ice, but keeps
accepting more water. Snow and
ice melt quickly due to the
heat-absorbent color. If it's
warm enough to drip into the
Freedom Filter, it's warm enough
to drain. Freedom Filter also
helps to avoid ice dam back-ups
by keeping the gutters and
downspouts clear and free
flowing. It has no effect on, or
will it be affected by, ice dams
that are a result improper
insulation. Also, ice and snow
sliding off the roof will no
longer get hung up in the
gutters.
How
Much Water Can Freedom Filter
Handle?
Freedom Filter can handle the
highest water flow. Freedom
Filter
is tested to handle in excess of
24" rainfall per hour - more
than double the highest rainfall
amount ever recorded. Unlike
other systems, even handles
high-flow roof valleys.
How
Durable is Freedom Filter?
Freedom Filter won't bend, dent or
crack like aluminum, or be
damaged by ice and snow, falling
tree limbs, or high winds.
What is the product's fire
rating? Does it have any
insulating properties?
Freedom Filter is designed to
withstand 20 times the heat that
heated gutter wires to melt ice
in gutters. It works very
efficient over the top of heated
wires.

Will Freedom Filter Affect My
Roof?
No.
Freedom Filter is preferred by
Roofing Contractors: No damaging
nails or screws; won't void roof
warranty. Allows homeowner to
re-shingle without destroying
their gutter protection.
When it rains does the filter
become too saturated to where it
becomes heavy and the added
weight can possibly bring down
or compromise the gutters
themselves?
Freedom Filter only retains 10 to
15% of the water that passes
through it, and that for only a
short period before it dries -
it's much too porous to hold any
water weight. When gutters sag
or collapse, it's usually from
the weight of water and debris
trapped because of clogging.
What about the little pebbles
that fall off the roof shingles
and where do they go? Do they
get caught in the black stuff or
are the holes big enough for
them to drain out?
Neither actually. "Shingle grit"
is too large to enter through
Freedom Filter's pores and just
sits on top. It's also extremely
porous and does not affect
drainage or performance in any
way.
